There's more controversy this week with Lady Gaga as a new book is claiming that she was hospitalised as much as six times in 2009 because she dieted like crazy just to fit in to her costumes!
This new book is called Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga, and author Maureen Cahallan says Lady Gaga constantly ate junk food and sweets while on tour and then would go on crazy diets weeks after so she could fit into her outrageous, skin tight costumes. Most of the claims in the book are made by her former tour manager David Cleimny who says that Gaga was constantly ill:
"When I say she was sick, I mean physically and mentally"
The 'Bad Romance' singer had come under fire earlier this year being accused of eating baby food to remain slim, but her rep denied the claims at the time. But now it looks like this book is to confirm the rumours of wild dieting and her true feelings about her body.
Gaga, real name Stephanie, had admitted in the past that she was always insecure:
"When I wake up in the morning I feel just like any other insecure girl. Then I say, B***h, you're Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today."
In the book, David goes on to say that she is Lady Gaga 24/7, sleeping in her makeup and costumes every night. It's true that Gaga does go over the top with her image and performances, but that's what most fans love about her, but according to this book, she wasn't looking after herself at all. She also tested 'borderline positive' for lupus earlier this year, and collapsed on stage in Australia.
The book is set to be released on September 14th and really shows a different side to Gaga. Well, with her constant promotion of drug taking, I wouldn't be surprised if the diet rumours are true, but no one ever said the life of a celeb was easy!
