Sneak Peak At The Dark Knight Rises Trailer

I cannot wait for this movie!!

Even though The Dark Knight Rises has just started shootin, movie goers got a sneak preview of the flick in an American cinema theatre.

Michael Cain, who plays the trusted butler in the movie has said that all the stars of the film have had to sign an "official secrets act", meaning no one can reveal the plot.

Actors on the set include Anne Hathaway who plays Cat Woman, Christian Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as the baddy Bane. With Inception's Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's playing two minor roles.

Christopher Nolan knows exactly what he's doing here, I'm getting goosebumps already:

Christian Bale Fights Back At Critics

"F**k you critics!"

News Flash: Don't ever piss off Christian Bale, because he will "Piss on your shoes".

Yes, everyone will remember Christian's infamous rant on the set of his movie Terminator: Salvation and now he's done it again, but for a good reason in my opinion!

A critic has come out and said that the Golden Globe winner has a "trademark weight loss" acting style, ie all he does is lose weight and it's not a big deal. You might remember he seriously slimmed down for the movie The Machinist, getting him nearly to the point of anorexia and also lost the weight for Breaking Dawn. Although, to me, this shows the passion Bale has for his roles, this critic in question didn't.

When asked about the comment by the Australian edition of Empire Magazine, Christian was not too happy at all:
"To be honest, I find it laughable that it's considered to be some f****** gimmick - it's so patronizing. For God's sake, do people not understand what a pain it is to do? It's as though it's some comment about, 'Oh it's easy for him, because he's done it a bunch of times.' It's not easy, it's not fun - it's horrible."

A seriously skinny Christian on the set of The Fighter

Christian went on to explain that his role in The Fighter required him to lose the weight, as did many of his other roles:
"I would never pick to do that, but it's a part that I like and he's a welterweight and he's a crackhead. I don't know about you, but I've never seen a welterweight with any fat on him - or a crackhead. So it's just what you end up having to do."

He went on to say that he would like to meet the critic in question:
"Somebody told me that somebody wrote something about my "trademark weight loss". I'd just like to p*** on that guy's shoes."
Ouch! That critic is going to regret that decision. In all seriousness though, Christian is a dedicated actor and creates serious health risks by loosing substantial amounts of weight for roles and then buffing up in weeks to return to his role as Batman.

He was amazing in The Fighter and I know he'll win the Oscar for Best Actor, so I agree with every word he says here. Do you?

Movie Review - The Fighter

The Oscar-nominated flick The Fighter hit our screens this week and it was outstanding!

The boxing movie is based on a true story, it portrays the early years of boxer Micky Ward and his brother, who helped train him before going pro in the mid '80s. Mark Whalberg puts on the boxing gloves in this flick while Christian Bale plays his older, troubled brother.

Anyone who's seen the flick you tell you the same thing... Christian Bale steals the show. He's already won Best Actor at the Golden Globes and at the Screen Actor's Guild Awards, and is tipped to win the same award at The Oscars. He has always been an amazing actor, films such as Breaking Dawn and The Machinist portraying the true passion he has for his art, so it's great that he's finally getting recognized.

Mark Whalberg also shone threw in this movie. He's definitely stepped up his game and although he hasn't been nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars, nominations at the SAG awards and the Golden Globes have proved that he too is being noticed for his talents.

So what's the movie like? Well similar to Million Dollar Baby there is a lot of focus on the boxing but Micky's personal life becomes the main focus. Micky's brother, who taught him how to box, is going off the rails and he's constantly loosing fights. The film centres on Micky's rise to his World Champion status and the rocky road he took to get there.

The movie has 7 nominations at the Oscars including Best Movie, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress for Melissa Leo who plays Micky's mother, another amazing performance in the flick.

There's lots of action, randomly loads of funny scenes and a heart-felt undertone. There's a few heart-wrenching moments but as well as shedding tears you'll leave the cinema laughing with a smile on your face.

Excellent performance from Christian in this one, Mark maybe could have stepped it up a little bit more, for that reason I'm giving this movie a rating of:
9/10
