The votes have been cast and the results are in!
I asked you guys to vote on the ten most shocking celeb break-up's of 2010, and there were some seriously surpring ones! Some of the splits that didn't make the top 10 include former 90210/Twilight couple Anna Lynn McCord and Kellan Lutz , Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva: one of the biggest splits in the media, Mel's tapes of cursing and threatening his baby-mama were leaked all over the internet. Other break-up's that didn't make the list include: Gabrielle Aubry and Halle Berry and Blake Lively and Penn Badgley.
So let's get on with the list!
10 Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman
In at number 10 is the break-up of marriage between songstress Christina Aguilera and music producer Jordan Bratman.
It had been a rocky year for the 'Beautiful' singer as her new album Bionic failed in the charts and her world tour was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. On top of all that Christina starred in her first film role, in the new flick Burlesque, and she was dealing with motherhood.
Christina spent 6 months filming the new flick, spending much time away from her hubby and her baby. After she came back home, she admitted, things had changed between them and there was something missing in her life:
"We were great the first year after Max was born. Jordan was amazing. He was the first to change Max's diaper. Then things turned. I was nurturing Max and felt independent in the relationship.I went right into filming Burlesque (in 2009) and I was growing leaps and bounds daily. I went from being a girl to a woman... and when I finished filming, I didn't feel right in my own shoes (at home). I had a lot of things stirring inside of me that I felt were being suppressed."
Soon after filming wrapped Christina made the decision to end her marriage and in October released a statement saying the couple had filed for divorce, adding that their two-year-old son Max would remain their priority:
"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever."
As soon as the statement was released, many reports claimed that Christina had been having 'lesbian romps' throughout her marriage, linking her to Samantha Ronson and random women, and that this had caused the end of their marriage.
However, to everyones surprise the 'Not Myself Tonight' singer resurfaced with a new man, but it was a man she had known for sometime... Matt Rutler. Matt had worked on the set of Burlesque months previously with the star and shared a 'special relationship'.
By the start of December Christina admitted she was in love with Matt but claimed that they hadn't started dating until she filed for divorce (yeah right):
"There's a love there, yes.Matthew is a special person. We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He's the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight.Once I filed for divorce, we started dating. I'm not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I'm taking it slow and trying to be happy. I'm having fun, I'm dating and it's something I haven't had in a really long time."
Soon pictures of Matt and Christina were everywhere. When the singer came to duet with Rebecca Ferguson on the X-Factor she paraded Matt on her arm around London, and flew him across the world with her during her Burlesque promo tour. Sounds very like the Britney + K.Fed relationship doesn't it?
It's still unclear why Christina and Jordan really split up. But I think she got bored, found Matt on set and cheated her way out of the marriage! She seems slightly obsessed with him now.
After a real split, you should really spend time alone.
9. Courtney Cox and David Arquette Next up, another controversial split this year was between Courtney Cox and David Arquette.
The pair, who met on the set of Scream over 10 years ago, had admitted in the past that they had gone through couples councelling, but nobody expected what would happen next.
Amongst rumors of Courtney cheating with her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt, Courtney and David released a public statement admitting that they were 'taking a break'. But the most shocking part of the split was yet to come.
On a late night radio show in the US with Howard Stern, David called up and started openly discussing the split. Admitting that he had slept with fame-whore Jasmine Waltz, who has also slept with Ryan Seacrest. David claimed that he and Courntey's sex life had become like a "routine".
The actor completely broke the trust of his wife and told, in detail on the show, that he slept with Jasmine and that it made him "feel like a real man".  |

The actor also admitted that he didn't want the relationship to end:
"It breaks my heart, [I'm] not the one that called this [separation] in order.I've been begging Courtney to get back with me. But she said to me, 'I don't want to be your mother anymore,'And I appreciated that about her ... She didn't want to tell me, 'Don't do that.' She didn't want to nag me anymore."
To every woman's surprise Courntey was not upset by the shocking conversation about her private life. And instead said she realized that there were more problems in her marriage than she thought:
"I always thought of myself as the greatest wife because I’ll do whatever I want to do and I don't mean open marriage, that's not what we had.Sometimes you just realise 'Wow, we actually have grown apart'.

Finally Courtney said in an interview that she didn't think it was the end of the road for the couple just yet. Even though she's still being pictured with her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt. She said:
" I don't know what will happen, but this is not like we're getting divorced. This is a separation and I think that takes a lot of courage. That's for sure the biggest thing I've ever done. Whatever is supposed to happen will be the best thing for us."
However on the 23rd of December Courtney and Brian were snapped at a party together and were apparently 'inseperable' for the night.
So who knows with this one. Will she and David reconcile? We'll have to see in 2011!
8 Shia La Beouf and Carrie Mulligan
Grabbing the 8th spot is the split between Transformers actor Shia La Beouf and oscar nominated actress Carrie Mulligan.
The couple met on the set of the flick Wall Streed: Money Never Sleeps and enjoyed a whirlwind romance for the whole world to see. While Shia was known for his role in Transformers, Carrie got her first oscar nominated for best actress, for her role in the movie Education.
Everything seemed to be going perfect for the cute pair but shockingly split up in October (all these splits seem to be in October don't they?). All of a sudden Carrie moved in to a Best Western Hotel in Beverly Hills and two weeks later was on a flight back to England to take a break and spend time with her family.

So what actually happened? Well their reps never confirmed a reason for the break-up. But many believed Shia was cheating on Carrie with his new Transformers co-star Rosie Hungtinton-Whitely. The Victoria Secret's model was a replacement for the smoking hot Megan Fox and sources said she and Shia had started a romance off the set!
I love Carrie and was really sad about this one! But if the rumors are to be believed she's now seeing her Drive co-star Ryan Gosling. The two are definitely the new hot couple in Tinsletown and she looks happier than ever. But unfortunately there are reports that he's actually dating Gossip Girl star Blake Lively. So I don't know what to believe!
And for Shia? Well he's been spotted with a mysterious brunette over the last few weeks and she's yet to be named. My opinion is he's a cheater and lost out on a beautiful talented woman!
7. Joe Jonas and Demi Lavoto
On the number 7 spot is the ultimate Disney couple that went wrong. The Jonas Brothers singer Joe Jonas and Sonny With A Chance star Demi Lavoto.
The couple announced that they were seeing eachother while they were on tour together, Demi being the opening act. The couple had met in 2007 on the set of Camp Rock and back in March Demi admitted they were an item when asked if they were a couple she said:
"Yeah, he is my best friend and he is incredible, he's a complete gentleman and treats me to the most amazing places...He's perfect."
But things turned sour just two months later, when Demi announced over Twitter that the two had called it quits. Rumors were flying that Joe had dumped the tween star over text but Demi took to her Twitter to clear things up:
"I’d like to clear a few things up. Joe and I did split but it wasn’t over the phone.Things didn’t work out but we’ll remain friends."
At the same time Joe released a statement. His wasn't so gentle though. He claimed that he had ended the relationship and that he only wanted to be friends:
"Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one. I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend. She’s been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her.”
Well that so called 'friendship' didn't last too long as things suddenly turned for the worst. In October things weren't looking so great for Demi as her best pal Selena Gomez became friends with her enemy Taylor Swift. Taylor fell out with Demi when she found out her BFF had hooked up with her ex. Yes Taylor was with Joe too, who hasn't been?

In the same month Celeb sites started posting unflattering pictures of the singer online which caused her to rant about it on her Twitter. Soon Demi packed everything in and her rep released this statement:
“Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time.”
And where was Joe Jonas? No where to be seen! And when he was found, he was sneaking around with Twilight star Ashley Greene! Suddenly Joe and Ashley were the new hot couple in Hollywood and every one forgot about poor Demi.

So where are they now? Unfortunately Demi is still in rehab, but was let out for 24 hours to see her family on Christmas Day. Joe is still with Ashley and there are rumors that he is ready to pop the question!

6 Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy
Next up was the split between actors Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy!
These two seemed to be the perfect couple. Jenny constantly said that Jim was perfect for her, and that he was a great father to her autistic son Evan. For five years, McCarthy, 37, and Carrey, 48, had one of the most loving relationships in Hollywood. Jim wrote the words "J loves J" across the sky in L.A on valentines day on their last year together and tweeted:
"Jenny my Love, you've stolen my heart, my soul and of course anything you find in my pants."
But like almost all Hollywood relationships, the two called it quits, and it was quite unclear what had really happened. Jenny and Jim both took to Twitter to announce the split. Jenny Tweeted:
"I'm so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to Jane [Carrey's 22-year-old daughter] and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart."
Carrey then tweeted:
"Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship,I'm grateful 4 the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the very best!"
It seems way too simple doesn't it? Well it was. There was much more that was going on and we were not aware of it yet. Soon Jim started to act very strange on Twitter and publicly became depressed. Reports were claiming that Jim's on-going battle with depression had forced Jenny to end things.
Very soon after the split (too soon) Jenny began to flaunt her new man around in front of the press. Her and Las Vegas Body-builder Jason Toohy moved very fast and Jenny began living with him in his Las Vegas home.
But that relationship ended just a few weeks ago and Jenny has said she will never date a famous man again (not that Jason was famous). She's said she now wants a regular nice guy:
"I can't do any celebrities. I need normal folks. I'm officially done [with Hollywood guys]. It was on my bucket list. Maybe I can check that one off my list.I don't like the red carpet scene. I like to stay at home and watch movies. I'll just take a nice guy."
Meanwhile, it doesn't seem that Jim has moved on just yet. But I'm sure some nice, funny woman will catch him soon!

5. Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron
Yes it's another Disney split that's made the list. This is one of the most recent splits and it was definitely a shocker!
The pair had a fairytale romance, meeting on the set of High School Musical back in 2006 and have been in-love ever since. The pair had moved in to a mansion together in Beverly Hills and everyone was beginning to hear wedding bells, except them apparently.
Then on December 13th, the day before Vanessa's 22nd birthday sources close to the stars told the media they were splitting up for good. One insider said:
"It was mutual. They have been together for so long. It just ran its course. They are still talking and still friends. There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up."
On the night of her b-day bash Vanessa told press that all was good between the pair, and that it was time to call it quits:
"We're good. I worked a lot in 2009. I did two movies back to back, so this year I just hung out, took it easy, did a play which was a lot of fun, did a movie and now the year is coming to an end before I know it. It's going to be a very, very busy year. I have three movies coming out in the next year, so I'm excited to see what the future is going to hold."
So although it was a huge surprise to most people it seems that this one is minus all the drama. But it's early days yet!
Recently sources have claimed that the pair have been spending a lot of time again together recently. So will they be together again in 2011? We'll have to wait and see!
4. Kate Winslet and Sam Mendez
Our final shocking split before we hit the TOP 3 is the break-up of Director Sam Mendez and actress Kate Winslet.
Kate is by far my favorite actress and American Beauty director Sam is amazing too, it seemed like a match made in heaven. After already going through a divorce, it seemed that Kate had finally found happiness. But in 2010 they made the oscar-nominated movie Revolutionary Road together, and it seems that started the end of their marriage.
The movie that got several Oscar nods, including Best Actress for Kate Winslet was a masterpiece for Sam but devestating for their marrige. Kate teamed up with her friend of over 15 years Leonardo Di Caprio to play a married couple struggling with depression. The marriage was filled with affairs, and Sam had to film intense sex scenes between Kate and Leo, apparently adding more stress to their marriage.

But Kate won the oscar for her role in the movie, and told the world that, if anything, working together brought them closer:
"Thank you for directing this film, babe, and thank you for killing us every single day and really enjoying us actually being in such horrific pain. But I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that I loved every second of working with you and it's made me love you more."
It seemed that art became life when in March 2010 the couple, who were married for over six years made the announcement that they were splitting up through their rep:
"The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."

But as usual there was more to the split than we initially thought. Soon after their announcement there were reports that the reason for the break-up was down to Sam's 'close relationship' with actress Rebecca Hall. The Christina Vicky Barcelona star was working on a play with Sam in New York and apparently he began spending more time with her than his wife Kate.
Rebecca denied the claims of course, and nothing has been said about their relationship since. However Kate did decide to move on quite publicly with her boy-toy, model Louis Dowler. The two got seriously heated up a few months after her marriage ended. But it seemed to be more for fun than anything serious.

The couple, as attractive as they were, went their separate ways in late November and she is single at the moment. The actress is still close to Sam though, as she admitted recently that she'll be moving from New York back to London with the children, so Sam can have easy access to them while he is Directing the new James Bond movie.

3. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan ReynoldsNext on the list is another really recent break-up.
Only a few weeks ago Hollywood A-listers Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds announced to the world that they were ending their marriage.
The 26-year-old Iron Man 2 actress began dating 34-year-old Ryan back in 2007, fresh from his split with Alanis Morrisette who he was in a relationship with for 4 years (and engaged to). The two actors began a whirlwind romance and were engaged only a few months later.
On December 14th the couple released this joint statement:
"After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage.We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
It quickly came to the surface that Scarlett had been un-happy for the last year becuase Ryan always prioritised his career over their marriage. The couple were the least photographed celeb couple in the world, and that reflected the fact that they were constantly apart.
Buried star Ryan admitted in the October issue of GQ that things had "changed" since they got married:
"I'm a little more guarded, I think. I'm a little bit more wary of having my relationship turning into a soap opera."
Since the break-up the pair have officially filed for divorce. However they have been seen out together having dinner, as close sources claim they will always remain great friends.
It was a sad announcement and hard for both of them as it was nearing Christmas. But they got married so quickly, and at such a young age for Scarlett.
But with Ryan being named the Sexiest Man In The World in 2010 and Scarlett being one of the most beautiful actresses in the world. I'm sure they'll both find new love very quickly!
2. Sandra Bullock and Jesse James
This split was definitely one of the most shocking of 2010! And you guys have voted it as the second most surprising break-up.
Sandra had just one on oscar for Best Actress and dedicated her speech to her teary-eyed husband Jesse James. All seemed to be perfect, but soon a huge scandal would hit the world, and Jesse James would become one of the most hated men in celebville.
Back in March 2010 Jesse was exposed for having an 11-month affair with tattoo artist Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, while Bullock was away filming The Blind Side. McGee claimed that Jesse made her believe that he and Bullock were split up and said the pair were romping weekly:
“He gave me the impression they were separated”
Sandra dissappeared at first, cancelling all her events, even the London premiere for The Blind Side. Weeks later she emerged and it was clear that she and Jesse were done. Jesse checked in to rehab for sex addiction in an attempt to win Sandy back, but thankfully she didn't fall for it and she filed for divorce.
Jesse went public with an apology in hopes that the actress would change her mind saying:
"This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me."

Although Sandra never took him back they began to have a strange relationship over the following months. Sandra publicly said that she would "always love" Jesse and that she will remain apart of his children's lives. A few months after the divorce Sandra revealed that she had adopted a 7-month old child from New Orleans named Louis Bardo in secret. Both she and Jesse were supposed to be the parents of Louis but obviously there was a change of plan.
Sandra then moved to Austin, Texas and Jesse followed her! No one knew what was going on! But the actresss admitted she wanted Jesse to remain in her life.

Jesse, however, decided to move on to another tatooed fame-whore, Miami Ink star Kat Von D. Kat shamelessly paraded Jesse around and brought him to every event she could think of. Seriously insensitive to Sandra Bullock. When asked about the relationship, Kat said she was in love with Jesse and she didn't give any thought to Sandra:
"Jesse is only my ninth boyfriend. I don't hang out with anybody unless I am in love. I stayed away from (they're split) as much as possible, and when we connected recently, it was such a positive thing. It was just like, 'Wow, I can't believe I haven't spent this much time with you the entire time I've known you.' Now I'm just embracing it and enjoying it."
Well doesn't she sound nice? Moral of the story, cheaters will always cheat and fame-whores will always stoop to the lowest level!
Sandra's now focusing on being a good mother to her son Louis, and I wish them all the best.
1. Eva Longoria and Tony Parker
So this was your number one choice, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker were the most shocking split of 2010!
The Desperate Housewives actress and NBA player seemed to be living a fairytale lifestyle. After four years together they got married in 2007 and Eva never stopped gushing about how wonderful her marriage was. Back in August 2010 she had said:
"I love being married to Tony. He and I get through things with a lot of laughter and a lot of the same goals and values in life - and it doesn't hurt that he's also the cliché of tall, dark and handsome."
But soon a scandal broke, and the world was told of the 'Sexting' affair Tony had been having with a team=mate's wife!! Eva had checked Tony's inbox in his phone and found 100's of texts to Erin Barry.The worst part about the affair being the fact that Eva and Erin had always been close friends!

We were yet to know the full truth when Eva decided to publicly break the news on Twitter saying:
"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce...We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."
35-year-old actress Eva, soon told friend and presenter George Lopez, that her heart was broken and that this wasn't his first affair:"She is devastated, she wants us all to know that. But she's strong."
Lopez also claimed that Eva told him her NBA hubby cheated on her earlier in the marriage, and she caught him when she saw secret messages on his facebook page!

Since the split Eva and Tony have been spotted having dinner together but there is no sign of a reconciliation, and I hope to god she doesn't take him back!!
