Uh-oh, I can't say I didn't see this one coming!

I reported last week that Rihanna and boyfriend Matt Kemp were 'taking a break' and now the pair have called it quits.

According to reports, after almost a year together, the couple have gone their separate ways, a source has said:

"It happened over the last few weeks,She basically was just over it."

The 'What's My Name' singer is currently taking some time away from the press and is staying with family in Barbados.

Everyone thought that Kemp, 26, was good news for Rihanna who had a really tough time during her split from domestic abuser Chris Brown. The singer assaulted Rihanna back in 2009 and the drama of their relationship unfolded in front of the world.

Rihanna had said herself that Matt was the nicest man she had ever been with and that he kept her sane:

"I'm so happy. I feel really comfortable and it's so easy. [The relationship] is just my peace. It keeps me sane."

But according to sources, RiRi was too busy to make time for Matt and it drove them apart:

"He just can't keep up with her crazy travel schedule."Matt's sick of always following after her like a puppy dog all over the world. He wants something more normal,"

Back in May, Matt had said of the singer:

"She's just a fun person. I love to be around her."

I think this is a case of nice guys finish last. She's always said he is really kind. Maybe too nice for the tough singer? After Chris Brown it would be hard to be with a sensitive person.

I just hope she finds happiness!
