Of all the popstars (well kinda) out there, I never thought he would check in to rehab!
Yes the brother of BackStreet Boys band member Nick Carter, Aaron, has checked himself into rehab for substance abuse. Of course his reps say he's gone in to tackle "emotional and spiritual issues"... yeah right.
Carter's manager Johhny Wright made the announcement saying:
"Several months ago, Aaron came to me to help him return to music and to restart his career. He has been in Orlando working on a new album and perfecting his live show and his physical body. Aaron, understanding the challenges and hard work it would take to get himself back to the top, requested to take some time before we started to heal some emotional and spiritual issues he was dealing with.
He continued:
"Therefore he has chosen to enter a facility where he feels he will get the guidance and cleansing he needs that will help him on the music journey he's about to take. He asks that everyone keep him in their prayers and that they respect his privacy at this time."
Are you struggling to remember why Aaron Carter is a popstar? Well he had a hit in the 1990s with 'Crush On You', used to love that one!
I've two opinions on this story, (1) the singer's heavily addicted to drugs and alcohol and this is all a cover up (2) it's a publicity stunt to get people interested in his 'comeback' album.
