Kenneth Tong Says "He Proved His Point"

Evil or Smart?

He's become one of the most hated celebrity's in the world this week, and despite his apologies it seems like people are going to go on hating.

I reported over the last few days that former Big Brother contestant Kenneth Tong had been riling up celebs by spreading a new diet plan called 'managed anorexia'. After publicly tweting the likes of Holly Wills and Rihanna saying she should try his new 'size zero' pil, I was personally appalled.

I joined in on the #NoSizeZero campaign and tweeted him nasty long messages, but everything changed today when he admitted the whole campaign was a 'hoax'.

Tonight Kenneth was on i102-104fm, on the late night I-Talk show and got to speak to some of the listeners, and they were not too kind to him at all!

One listener accused him of using: "another mental illness to cover his own illness” and reminded Kenneth that although he admitted the 'managed anorexia' plan was all a hoax, that there may have been serious consequences:
“if this just affects one person, than you’ve lost one life”

Throughout the interview Kenneth stayed strong to his main point that the whole thing was "just an experiment" and he never meant anyone harm, that if anything, he raised further awareness of the mental illness. He told I-Talk:
“ The experiment hasn’t been all that bad, I raised awareness throughout the week. It’s been a learning experience for me.”

Listeners asked him why he chose anorexia of all things as a publicity stunt, he said:
“ Weight was the right topic. Right now everyone’s thinking about weight loss. Everyone knows January is known for the gym time."

Simon Cowell and Rihann fought Tong's 'Campaign'

Kenneth said that the real issue should be that Twitter bosses never shut him down, despite a Twitition signed by hundreds asking Twitter to cancel his page. The owner of the anti-Kenneth Tong twitter page ‘MrTongIsWrong’ came on air and said that what he has done on Twitter cannot be absolved.

Sadly, the owner of the page had a family member with the illness and thought his experiment was way too sensitive and extremely dangerous. He asked Kenneth what had he gained from this mass experiment, he said he had proved his point:
“I’ve proved that Twitter needs to be more regulated. I had the largest Twitition to get shut down and nothing happened. There has never been an experiment to this extreme. I hope I have educated people all over the world on the mental illness now”

Kenneth Tweeted earlier that his whole campaign was a hoax and that he wanted to prove the point that a nobody can become a somebody basically overnight using Twitter as an example. Tong also says that his experiment proves that there needs to be more regulation on social networking sites:
“I have absolutely proven my point. What I would like to see now is change. I shouldn’t have been allowed to keep doing what I was doing”
So is he just a fame-whore looking for attention? Well he says he doesn't want a career in showbiz, this experiment was something he was just really interested in:
"I don’t want to be in the media, I will probably be working in business back in china”
So is he forgiven?? I have to say his agenda with his experiment was smart, celebrity's have become famous for no reason these days and there are very harmful websites going around, such as pro-anorexia sites, and pro-suicide sites that need to be shut down once and for all.

But, did he go too far?
