Mark Wahlberg Talks About 'The Fighter'

Hunky actor Mark Whahlberg has come very far in the last few years, and his upcoming flick The Fighter is generating some serious oscar buzz for the former Kids On The Block singer!

Although the movie centre's around violence and boxing, Mark told Access Hollywood that the story has deeper meanings:
“(It's) a story about a family and the relationships and love and faith. I think anybody can identify with it on some level.”

The 39-year-old actor added that he was surprised about how women reacted to the flick, saying most women push away violence:
“To see the reaction of women seeing the movie for the first time — and you say anything to do with fighting and they want to be as far away from it as possible --but the women responded much stronger to the movie than men,”

The movie is already up for six Golden Globe Award's! But Mark said that all that's important to him is that he got to share the movie with his loved ones:
“It’s a beautiful thing! We never expect it, especially not while filming, but we’re thrilled to have it. I mean, gosh, we didn’t care if we were the only people who saw the movie and had to invite our family and friends and show it to them. So, to have all of this stuff happening is awesome.”
Love that Marky Mark! Definitely the one to watch this awards season!
